Mahlengi Ukwanda Farm

Ukwanda Farm in Winterton is managed by Hlengiwe Hlophe, one of the successful farmers funded by Peulwana Agricultural Financial Services. She had the first loan in 2009. At that time, the farm had a bird population of about 60 000 laying an average of 50 000 eggs a day. With funding from Peulwana, she rehabilitated the chicken houses and grew the bird population to 160 000 with a daily output of 144 000 eggs. She is now an egg supplier of note to KwaZulu-Natal Midlands Super markets, B&Bs and hotels
